The motor hums or clicks but the shade stays put. This is the classic sign of an internal problem. When you hear the motor working but see nothing move, the drive gear or clutch inside the motor is often stripped or jammed. A grinding or crunching noise makes that even more likely.

The shade moves slowly, unevenly, or only partway. Sluggish travel can mean low voltage reaching the motor, a binding roller tube, or a motor wearing out. Partial travel that stops in the same spot every time usually points to a limited setting rather than the motor failing.

Work from cheap and simple toward complex and expensive. You will solve many problems before you ever touch the motor.

Confirm the coach has good 12V power. Motorized shades run on your house system, so a low battery is often the first thing to make them act strange. Check that you are seeing a healthy voltage, not just that a light comes on somewhere.

Check the fuse and the switch. Confirm the fuse protecting the shade circuit is intact, then test the wall switch or remote. If one shade is dead but its neighbors work off the same switch, the switch is probably fine and the problem is downstream.

Test for power at the motor. With a multimeter at the motor connection, confirm the motor is receiving voltage when you hit the switch. Power at the motor with no movement is a very different diagnosis than no power arriving at all.

Look for a physical obstruction. Gently check the fabric and roller tube for anything twisted, bunched, or caught. Do not force a stuck shade. Running the motor against a jam is one of the fastest ways to burn it out.

Try a reset or limit recalibration. If the shade runs but stops in the wrong place, the travel limits may have drifted. Your owner documentation will have the reset steps for your system.
